Maybe this is a clue as to why money was left to someone there?Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16940729662763453442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-704095971276575721.post-69912240142797774512021-04-15T09:53:38.117+01:002021-04-15T09:53:38.117+01:00Hi,

I tried to photograph it but with very limited success. Trerice is full of portraits. I do have some pictures, not up to the standard of others you have though. Also of interest is Pen Dennis Castle as there were 2 Arundells there, one was governor.
Regards,
George Tyler.Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16940729662763453442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-704095971276575721.post-80538773866870696452018-04-02T16:23:05.679+01:002018-04-02T16:23:05.679+01:00Hi

In 1426 John Arundell of Trerice takes possession of the Penrose manor of Trevennel near St Just in Roseland whilst Judge John Penrose's heirs are in ward in London (sold by arundell to John Hatherle of Queenhithe who became Mayor of London in the 144o's. Penrose and Arundell of Trerice are connected in the 15th century without doubt in a legal capacity. Maybe an Arundell daughter called Constance married John Penrose as his second wife after 1390. The family coat of arms seems to include Penrose in the Trerice arms on the one displayed at Trerice. Again in 1522 Arundell of Trerice attempts to gain possession of shared property at Trethek belonging to Peter Bevill the younger of Gwarnick his kin. If it is the arms of Penrose (three roses on a bar azure) with the Bevill bull with Arundell on the Trerice arms beside Bevill I am very interested indeed.

Best wishes Dominick Penrose Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
