He was a Captain in the West India Regiment then a sea captain.His son David Palmer appears in the 1851 census as the tenant farmer of 266 acres. By 1853 he migrated to Australia to be a Sergeant of Mounted Police and then a landowner in the Riverina area of NSW. His son Henry was my great grandfather. I am John Palmer.
